I’ve read and heard many people talking about the “nesting” phase of pregnancy. That’s when soon-to-be mothers start cleaning and organizing frantically to prepare for their baby’s arrival.
Well apparently that urge skipped me because I’m straight chillin’ in these last days of pregnancy. 😎
My hospital bag is not packed, I still have some tidying up to do around the house, and the last thing on my mind is organizing my pantry and spice racks in alphabetical order. 🙄
I don’t know why I’m so nonchalant about the whole thing. I was the same way with my wedding:
Are you excited?
Ummm.. yeah sure.
Aren’t you nervous?
Not at all. I’d been with my then-fiance for five years.
I know when I was getting married, I [insert outrageous story of an unstable person dealing with stress]
Then you need professional help, ma’am, because life only gets harder.
The way I see it, there’s nothing to get worked up about because it’s happening either way. Why stress and get high blood pressure for no reason? Are my husband and I excited? Sure! But we also don’t have 12 different emergency plans in place for when my water breaks.
Of course I’ll eventually sweep a little something here and there to make sure my home is clean, but all this frantic business? It’s for the birds… 😉
