Failing to Plan? Plan to Fail

Procrastination MemeAs I get older, I realize that I have to literally plan everything if I’m going to do it.

I never thought I’d have to be the “planner book” type of person. I usually wing it and play things by ear. But slowly, I’m letting things slip through the cracks. Not a good look. Case and point:

Blogging/Vlogging

Did you realize I haven’t written a blog post since March 12?!? What in the world is up with that? And the sad part is that it feels like only a week has gone by. So now, I’m carving out time on Sundays to write my blogs for the week.

My only excuse is that I’ve been busy with work, church, and life; but a lot of people are, and they always happen to get their stuff together. Why shouldn’t I?

Let’s not even talk about my videos. I haven’t done one in months. In my defense, I explain that I have no need to do a lot of videos because I don’t do much to my hair. Plus, I answer everyone who emails/tweets/comments. That counts, right?  Sigh…

Cooking

My goodness. I’m so sick of coming home and having to “whip up” something real quick.

Shout out to meatloaf, tacos, and anything else I can cook in a bind because without them, my family would starve.

I need to get my Crock Pot game up, but like I said — that would involve planning and some food prep the night before to work with my schedule. Don’t even get me started on a schedule for what to feed Jayden when…

Working Out

I can’t even count how many “new beginning” Mondays have gone by where I said I’ll start running or doing circuit training, only to be too tired when I get home.

Well, guess what? I’m always going to be too tired. I have to suck it up, dress in my workout clothes, and fake it ’til I make it.

I need to plan out a whole exercise schedule of what I’m doing when… and for how long. My daily diet isn’t down the crapper, but exercise will give that extra oomph that I want.

I could list more, but I feel more pathetic with each new category I can think of. The ones I named are the biggies, though.

Geesh… moral of the story: plan it out. If you don’t, it probably won’t happen.

It’s all fun and games in high school and college. All I had to worry about was my homework and jobs.

Now? Psssh… the real world ain’t no joke! HAHA! I love it, but if you don’t plan things out, you’ll miss out on a lot of things you want and/or need to do. #PreachingToMyself #LetTheChurchSayAmen
